Dr. Billy Myers
Dr. Billy Myers grew up in Snellville, Georgia on a small family farm. He graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary medicine in 1979. Billy practiced for eight years in Lawrenceville, Georgia, his mentor, the late Dr. P.J. Wall, in the same facility where he had cleaned cages throughout high school.
With strong desire to own his own veterinary practice, Billy moved to Walton County where he started Countryside Hospital for Animals in 1991. He and his wife, Lee, who is also a veterinarian, live on a farm in Good Hope community with their dogs, cats, horses, and donkeys.
He was the recipient for the 2005 GVMA Equine Veterinarian of the year,for outstanding and dedicated service to the veternarian profession and equine owners. Dr. Myers is also a charter member of the Georgia Equine Rescue League and has served on the advisory board since it’s founding.
Dr. Myers has recently become active in the Christian Veterinary Mission Trips and has traveled to the Navejo Indian Reservation for the last 2 years. While there he has preformed numerous pro bono surgeries the equine community.
Dr. Christina Dayton
Dr. Christina Dayton was born and raised in Lincoln, Delaware. Dr. Dayton graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She joined Countryside Hospital for Animals in February of 2008. Dr. Dayton enjoys working on all types of animals including horses, dogs, goats, cats, alpacas, and llamas. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but especially reproduction and general medicine in horses, soft tissue injuries and disease in dogs and cats, and taking care of alpacas and llamas. Dr. Dayton also has an interest in alternative therapies and currently in the process of finishing her animal chiropractic training. She is excited about being able to offer this new therapy to both large and small animals.
When Dr. Dayton is not taking care of patients, she is a busy girl taking care of her own animals. She and her husband, Adam have a farm in Jersey, where they have 4 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 chickens. Their horses are Joe, a 24 yo Quarter Horse, Sham, a 17yo TB gelding, Boots, a 20 yo TB mare, and May, a 3 month old Warmblood filly. Her dogs are Reno, a lab, Bandit , a lab mix, and Cookie, a Heeler/corgi mix. Her cats are Willie and Seymour. Dr. Dayton enjoys running, riding, and crocheting. She enjoys showing her horse, Sham, at dressage shows and horse trials. Adam and Christina enjoy scuba diving and water sports together.
Dr. Lynnie Fuller
Dr. Fuller was raised in south Georgia. He did his undergraduate studies in biology. He initially managed two engineering and architectural supply firms. He also owned X-ray Processing Repair of Georgia. After deciding to go into veterinary medicine he attended Georgia Southwestern on a Nasa Research grant.
He later moved to Athens, Georgia and graduated from the university of Georgia College of Veterinary medicine in 1999. During his studies at Athens, he worked for the PDRC and UGA doing raite research (ostrich) and equine anatomy studies. He has practiced at Countryside Hospital since.
Dr. Fuller enjoys the challenges a mixied practice offers and continues to pursue his passion of small animal surgery and medicine.
He and his wife, Debbie have two rambunctious boys ages 10 and 12 . Debbie has been a coronary care nurse for almost 20 years and works at the Athens Regional Cardiac Lab. They all enjoy the companionship of their 7 horses, 6 cats and 3 dogs.
